What is reclassification as disguised employment?
When a judge finds a subordination link (instructions, imposed hours, hierarchical integration), the freelance relationship can be reclassified as an employment contract: back contributions, damages, sanctions for the client.
How does umbrella employment remove this risk?
Under umbrella employment you already are an employee — of the umbrella company. There is nothing left to reclassify: the client is protected, you are covered.
